A round bar is a cylindrical metal rod with a uniform circular cross-section. Known for its high strength, smooth surface, and dimensional consistency, it is widely used across construction, automotive, engineering, and fabrication industries. At Kanodia Enterprises, we offer a comprehensive range of hot-rolled and cold-drawn round bars in multiple grades and sizes to suit varied industrial applications.
Types of Round Bars
We supply round bars in various material compositions and mechanical properties:
- Carbon Steel Round Bars: C45, EN8D, EN9
- Alloy Steel Round Bars: 4140, EN19 (42CrMo4), 20MnCr5
- High Tensile Round Bars: ST52-3, S355, S355J2, E350C
Material Grades & Properties
Grade | Key Properties |
---|---|
C45 | Medium carbon steel with good strength and wear resistance |
EN8D | Excellent machinability and weldability, used in high-stress parts |
EN9 | High carbon steel for gears, crankshafts, and axles |
4140 | Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel with high tensile strength |
EN19 (42CrMo4) | Fatigue resistant and impact tough alloy steel |
20MnCr5 | Case-hardening steel for gears and shafts |
ST52-3 | Structural steel with high tensile and good weldability |
S355 / S355J2 | Structural steel with enhanced impact properties |
E350C | Indian standard high tensile steel with machinability |
Manufacturing Process
Hot Rolling: Billets are heated and passed through rollers to form round bars. This method is economical for bulk and structural use.
Cold Drawing: Hot rolled bars are drawn through dies at room temperature for precise dimensions and surface finish. Often used where accuracy is critical.
